Many of us dream of running our own business, but it can be difficult to know how to do so in an industry as big and as old as rail.

Joe Whalen left a career working in Client, Contractor and Consultancy parts of the railway industry in 2017 to establish Railway Project Services – a start-up SME in railway Project Management. Having built the business to a four-strong team with a turnover of £250,000, Joe is taking the time to speak with YRP members about what it takes to form a start-up in the current climate, what to watch out for and his plans for 2019 and beyond.
