Following the huge success of our Introduction to the Rail Industry for armed forces leavers held back in October 2016 we will be hosting a similar event in Derby on 3rd April 2019.
The day will provide an opportunity for companies to have a small stand enabling them to meet and network with a range of people who have recently left, or are planning their exit from, the UK’s armed forces and who are looking for new career opportunities. Attendees will include all ranks including senior officers from the army, navy and air force and we are working closely with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and Officers’ Association to promote the event to interested individuals.
The format will be similar to the previous event with a short introduction to the industry by 2-3 people who have made the transition followed by plenty of time for individuals to chat informally to companies about the type of jobs they may have coming up and for them to identify the range of career opportunities potentially available. There will also be separate break out sessions for senior officers and companies interested in talking to these individuals.
Companies wishing to attend / have a stand will need to make a small contribution to the cost (this will cover venue hire and lunch costs for the attendees) and is as follows:
RFM Members £150 plus VAT
non RFM Members £250 plus VAT
This represents exceptionally good value compared to normal careers fairs that companies attend.
Having a range of companies in attendance from infrastructure managers and contractors, to rolling stock manufacture and maintenance, digital solutions and consultancies etc. attracts a far wider audience than single company events which is why CTP are so keen to repeat the successful formula we developed previously.
