Date(s) - June 9 2021
2:00pm - 4:00pm
This event will take place online.
Members frequently ask us about access to finance; be this grants for expansion, funding for innovation and R&D or for investment in skills. The funding landscape is very complex (and set to change further in the coming year or so with new rules now the UK has left the EU).
This event will provide an opportunity for members to hear from several organisations about potential access to funding / funding opportunities including:
Sandy Finlay from ABGI with some hints and tips about how to put together a funding bid and the support they can offer.
Paul Bhatia from the European Space Agency (ESA) will explain the opportunities available through the Space4Rail funding stream. Space4Rail is an ESA initiative to support the railway community by raising awareness of the added value that space-based assets can bring to railway applications. The initiative identifies ESA funding programmes that can support potential opportunities for the exploitation of space-based assets such as communication, PNT (Position, Navigation and Time) and earth observation satellites to meet today’s challenges and needs in railway operations.
Daisy Chapman-Chamberlain, Rail Knowledge Transfer Manager at the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) providing an update on latest funding streams and current areas of focus.
Neil Carson & Graeme Stewart from Legal Rooms. Graeme & Neil will discuss the importance of R&D tax credits and the influence it has in driving economic growth and rewarding companies for their continued efforts towards innovation.
Halil Bedevi, UK Head of Aerospace, Defence, Rail and Advanced Manufacturing, Santander. Santander see themselves as playing a key role in supporting businesses beyond just day to day business banking services. They have a focus on advanced manufacturing, helping to stimulate the green recovery with dedicated teams of manufacturing sector specialists. They cover rail as one of their sub-sectors, looking to help more rail companies to grow and prosper and trade internationally in key markets.
